About us
We read the tech beat so your week doesn’t have to slow down.
TechOldNewz is a UK-based desk covering the tools, devices and companies changing how people work and build — written to be understood, not skimmed past.
Why we exist
Most tech coverage moves in two speeds — breathless hype or dense jargon. We built TechOldNewz to sit in between: clear, useful reporting on the tech news, apps, gadgets and startups that actually affect how people in the UK work, build and buy.
We started as a small desk tracking product launches and quietly grew into five beats — Tech News, Software & Apps, Gadgets & Reviews, Emerging Technology, and Business & Startups — because that’s where our readers kept asking questions.
Every piece we publish is written to help you make a decision — whether that’s which app to install, which gadget is worth the money, or which startup is actually worth watching.
What we cover
Five beats, one desk. Pick the one you’re here for.
How we work
We verify before we publish
Every claim is checked against a primary source — a press release, a filing, or the product itself — before it goes live.
We write for the decision, not the click
Headlines describe what’s actually in the piece. No bait, no filler — just what you need to know.
We correct in the open
If we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. No quietly-edited history.
Got a story tip, a correction, or a question?
The desk reads every message that comes in.
